Nearly 10 years ago, Bethel University PA Program members began fundraising for NBIA in honor of Cole Tanner. His mother, Johnna Tanner, made a huge impact through her work and effort in guiding the program toward success. In gratitude for her dedication, the faculty, staff, and students decided to host an annual event supporting the organization searching for a cure for her son's neurodegenerative disorder. Cole continues to battle NBIA, and with your help in fundraising for research you can play a role in finding a cure!
Physician Assistant Class of 2020.
Neurodegeneration with Brain Iron Accumulation is a group of ultra-rare, genetic neurological disorders characterized by abnormal accumulation of iron in the basal ganglia. The basal ganglia is a collection of structures deep within the base of the brain that assist in regulating movements.
NBIA Disorders Association supports families dealing with these disorders, and works with researchers to learn more and discover treatments and cures.
